Inês Alves Wins European Grant for Lupus Study

Inês Alves, a researcher in Pinho’s Lab, has been awarded a prestigious €10,000 Exploratory Research Grant by the European Society for Clinical Investigation (ESCI).

Her project aims to identify glycobiomarkers to improve the early diagnosis and monitoring of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a debilitating autoimmune disease. This grant will enable Inês to explore a new perspective on autoantibodies, potentially leading to less invasive and safer diagnostic methods, thereby enhancing the quality of life for lupus patients.

Congratulations Inês!
