GlycanTrigger Consortium Gathers in Leiden for the 2nd General Assembly Meeting!

The 2nd GlycanTrigger General Assembly Meeting has concluded successfully in Leiden, The Netherlands. Hosted by Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), the two-day event brought together researchers and collaborators from all partners across Europe and USA to discuss the latest developments in the project.

Day one began with welcome remarks from project coordinator Salomé Pinho and WP1 Leader Manfred Wuhrer from LUMC. The agenda included presentations from Carolina Dantas, Salomé Pinho, Joana Revés, and Vanda Pinto, representing WP1, WP3, WP4, and WP6 respectively. They shared new data and novel insights from their 2023 activities alongside with  action plans for 2024, fostering productive discussions among participants.

Day two featured presentations from Harry Sokol from Sorbonne Université, representing WP2, and Diana Sousa from SPI – Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação, representing WP5. Following these presentations, the External Advisory Board members, Prof. Rita Gerardy-Schahn and Prof. Stefan Schreiber, provided valuable feedback, contributing to the strategic direction of the project.

With the successful conclusion of the meeting, the entire GlycanTrigger team expressed optimism for the project’s progress and reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration and innovation in glycoscience research.

The GlycanTrigger project aims to enhance our understanding of how glycans contribute to the development of IBD, ultimately striving to develop new therapeutic interventions. For more information on the project, please visit https://glycantrigger.eu/.
